It was a shame how Eagle Cruz was treated and what happened. I met him through Vernal Cross while he was helping up on Pine Ridge and then ran into him again at Naropa. He and I had many talks about the difference between studying a religious ritual and teaching it. I never met the wannabe who took issue with his religious studies class, but I'd be curious about her particular motivations. I hope he is doing well where ever he is now. Enjoyed reading your piece.
